Quick fixes (2-5 minutes)
1. Two Truths and a Lie
Each student says three things about themselves. One is a lie. The class votes. Works for A2+, takes ~3 minutes per student.
2. Word Association Chain
You say "summer." Next student says "beach." Next says "sand." If anyone hesitates, they’re out. Vocabulary review disguised as a game.
3. Would You Rather
Would you rather have unlimited pizza for life, or unlimited ice cream? Speaking practice + critical thinking. Generate fresh prompts with our discussion-question tool.
Energy boosters (5-10 minutes)
4. The Telephone Game
One student whispers a sentence. By the time it reaches the last student, hilarity ensues. Tests listening + pronunciation in disguise.
5. Stop the Bus
Categories: country, food, animal, name. Pick a letter. First team to fill all four shouts "STOP THE BUS!" Wins a point.
Speaking warmups (5 minutes)
6. Sentence Stems
"If I won the lottery, I would..." Students complete out loud. Tests conditionals without making them feel like a quiz.
